Lacy Hunting Dogs

A Hunting Partner for Life..

Hunting Dogs

We have a large family of hunting dogs!
For the most part we hunt feral hogs with our dogs. For those of you less familiar with hog
they are destructive mean creatures! And our dogs are very good at sniffing them out and bayin' em' up solid!

We run Lacy dogs for strike dogs & bay dogs.
We also use catch dogs. Despite my own previous fears of Pit Bull Terriers
our Boston Carver "Maya" & "Ollie" and our Hog Nose "Diva" are my babies. They are the most laid back
loving dogs we own. They are also VERY VERY good at what they do and they love it.
I know that they would give their own lives to protect us out in the woods.

We use cut collars on ALL of our dogs. Thats important! You should always protect
your hunting companion as much as possible.
Our catch dogs wear cut vests as well.

All of our Lacy Dogs are registered through the National Lacy Dog Registry.
The NLDR was founded for working/performance Lacy Dogs and offers in depth pedigrees as well as records of titles/wins in events such as Bay Competitions. We are also working with other registries for future registration of the Lacy Breed.

Our pups come with contracts and registration papers will not be granted until the pup has proved it's self  competent in it's chosen field of work, conformation & temperament. Once those requirements are met and the dog inspected, the new owner will obtain full registration. This is to insure that the breed and our lines stay true to size, prey drive/workability & temperament that is expected of a pure bred  Lacy Dog.

Training

We train all of our own dogs.
Mike built training pens right here on our place.

Most of our dogs do not get to go into the woods until they are
a year old. So they get a full years training.
When we are training someone else's dogs, we have a 30 day program.
The dog(s) are worked every day in the pens for 30 Days then taken out on a hunt with
their owner and our dogs.

We have several ranches that we hunt year around in both Burnet & Llano county.
Due to the over population of the feral hog & the destruction they cause both to land and the eco system
most land owners need all the help they can get.
This is a service we provide free of charge.

Our Dogs are trash broken and do nothing but their jobs.

If you need help getting your dog started or have a hog problem email us
snmhogdogs@aol.com

Most of our dogs blood trail as well. So if you're in our area on a hunt let us know.
