Lacy Hunting Dogs

A Hunting Partner for Life..

Raw Feeding

In recent years there have been many dogs die or become ill from grain dog foods.
Because of that and the fact that we have quite a few dogs, we made the switch to raw food.
We had a couple of dogs that just didn't respond well to grain food, couldn't keep weight on them despite
worming ect. It just didn't seem as though our dogs were digesting as much of the nutrients as what was needed to keep them healthy & energetic.

If you have hunting dogs you know exactly how much energy they use on a hunt!
A good friend of ours has a beautiful healthy Lacy and I had to ask her what she was feeding...
I was a bit surprised to learn she fed raw meat. I was also intrigued. It made sense seeing how before
we domesticated dogs they managed just fine in the wild with out us, or corn or rice. Pretty sure they weren't raiding Farmer Browns potato patch either.Since we began our raw feed diet with our dogs we
have seen a significant change in their over all health and appearance as well as their energy levels!

Thanks Betty for all you have taught us and for helping our dogs be ALL they can be !

Other Options

Not in to the raw feeding? I will tell you the dogs LOVE it and it does make a huge difference.
However if grain feed is your bag, here are some feeds I would recommend

Diamond makes a feed called Premium Edge Chicken & Rice
It is a bit pricey but it is a good feed.

Chicken Soup For The Dog Lover & Puppy Lovers Soul
This too is a high quality feed.

REMEMBER look at the content of the food. The first three ingredients are important.
It doesn't matter what the protein & fat content is if all you are feeding is beet pulp and
yellow corn. Your dog needs more than that.Look for meat products in the label
and compare foods .  Your dog will thank you for it.
